Camping when it’s not quite as warm as it could be
Revisting Rhyader, mostly becaue ther should be some simple cycle rides and the ever hospitable Welsh.
It’s a good base for trips around.
Staying at the Campsite in the town – easily accesible site by the river. Grand cycling around the Elan lakes; it’s just a cycle ride but very pleasant. Cross country to Aberystwyth and its Cliffside funicular, via Devil’s Bridge which was the setting for a moody TV crime drama. Driving back across the moors looks like a wonderful atmospheric cycle ride. Red kite feeding station is just that (and not much else) but it is quite a sight. Walk along the coast to Newquay and a bus back from the Dylan Thomas trail in Abaraeron. You simply MUST own this recording of Under Milk Wood with Richard Burton as the narrator.
Rhyader has an interesting character triangular pub, some tea shops but not in itself a huge amount more.
