Sa Colabra. Mallorca IV

The Aparthotel Bahia Pollensa room #216 and 19 or so Swindon Wheelers & Jet2, October 2023. In Spain LL is pronounced ‘ye’, hence ‘Majorca’, ‘Pojenca’ etc. Temperatures in the high twenties all week. Phew. So, Tuesday lunch at Molis Pollenca for €18 easily reached by bus with an hour to walk back, Wednesday Sa Colabra & a hike to meet the goats along Cami Cala Boquer, Thursday Valdemossa’s Palace of Jaume II. Chopin spent 6 weeks here with Georges Sand, and the €12 tour ticket of the monastery and museum includes a 15minute recital – this time 2 nocturnes and 2 waltzes. Whilst the wheelers left early on Saturday we re-visited Alcudia old town and saw the 2BC Roman ruins Pollentia, though basically just rubble, well worth the few euros to takeyou back 2000 years. That left the Sunday stroll to Cala St Vincent – really not the best route for safety first and a more acceptable sprint back by the bus, but what a lovely beach/cove.

The big event was Sa Colabra

Mallorca airport has a water fountain by gate A08 lavabos. Food experiences included Tumbet – tomato sauce laden Mediterranean vegetables and potatoes, and of course almond cake. Buses are contactless with reductions the more of a group tap in. The flight home was delayed by 3 hours, arriving back in Bristol’s 24 ° and off for some evening tennis.
