Parkrun included some challenging hills, but with good weather the post-run coffee at the Gulbenkian crowned a memorable run
Polish dinner went down well with beetroot soup & mushroom pierogi (uszki) then kotlet schabowy aka Wiener Schnitzel. The cucumber salad, mizeria also seemed to hit the spot. Potatoes should always be served with dill, as should most things in fact.
Judging by their respective steeds the very much ‘Lampard leisure cyclists’ only overtook 2 cyclists on their pedal-pushing around Kent suggesting this was very much a club ride with Rapha-lycra bedecked groups overtaking at any opportunity. It’s not that we were hanging around but starting around 8.30 by the time we finished just after 6 there were only around 30 still to finish out of 770 participants. Post pedal pizzas and a final family McFlurry order were very much the icing on the cake.

Friday afternoon was spent largely at Broome Park, now a swanky hotel and golf club was once the home of Lord Kitchener, on a warm May afternoon sharing memories and pictures.
