Tczew parkrun 400

The good parkrunners of Tczew set themselves up to go for a record attendance, after their own 1774 record, but fell short at 1663. Still a great effort which deservedly saw the sun shine for the couple of hours at the event. Thanks to Strava

Travelling to Stansted we should remember to get in to the 10/11 coach on the stansted express to get a run at the ram. TBF Stansted is decent enough but small and busy, the boarding staff were pinging travellers with over size luggage but again you are warned. The flight was delayed and it needs to be noted that a 70-80PLN taxi far may be needed to get to Wreszcz if you don’t get there for the train. Next time get a cheaper night hotel in Gdansk than stopping over before an early flight from Stansted.

The tutu wasn’t initially intended but stepping in to a shop which sold clothes by weight it was too good a chance to pass up.

Whilst in Tczew we enjoyed the stations of the cross around the old town with some live action figures

  • Ryanair coffee is good so don’t cut your nose
  • Stansted will be busy- it was super quiet as it happens – but looks well organised
  • DO NOT rock up and buy tickets for the Stansted express train, the price is criminal, buy in advance on line £25 vs £9.90. They are not timed so can be used on any service that day
  • The latest 2025 TikTok trend—called airport theory‘—challenges travellers to show up to the airport 15 minutes before their flight. It took about 20 minutes to get to the gate through security (v. quiet) passport control (v.quiet too). The guy last on the flight may well have been playing, as he got on 5 minutes before scheduled take off time.
  • The other thing to consider when buying rail/air tickets is skiplagging. Given that the £26.90, admittedly off-peak return, yes return, to Stansted from Swindon compared to normal fares is extraordinary
