UK breaks

Brixham 25

While storm Éowyn battered the rest of Britain, a select few twiglets dodged the tempest at Seaspray – an exceptional find with first rate ocean views and unusually for a rental, sharp knives. Top marks for company too, with ‘outdooractive’ JB leading us along the coastal path and a Hardy supporting cast.

3 days and 30 miles of seaside walks and the 3 lap Torbay Velo Park parkrun tested our fitness and bone-jarring complaints meaning we just about managed a single working body between us. Meanwhile competitive games of Qwirkle and Herd Mentality stretched our cognitive abilities as much as the DIY catering and meals out stretched our waistlines.

The Velo Park was patrolled by a keen parking warden – tickets all round for miscreants…

The location is well worth a return – thanks to Dorset Sue.
