A return to Minehead 10 years after THAT cycle trip saw 18 stalwarts descend on what must be one of the prettiest settings for a Hostel. These excursions have many challenges – do we need rice AND baked potatoes, will there be enough bacon, how do we avoid sharing a room with somone with unpleasant habits, will my new walking boots give me blisters, will the Chardonnay be cold, will we arrive at the right meeting point for the walk, but this time the M5 on a friday night provided an unexpected problem.
The weather was fantastic, and a new era dawned on the group walk – the tea shop a welcome stop 10 minutes into the walk, a leisurely distance covered of maybe 4 miles and a rest on the beach.
