Blue skies and below freezing conditions. The company had been doing the coach trip/social skiing for years but this is the last resort standing for them, still, with 8 days skiing and an ability to tolerate an overnight trip on a bus means it may still have a place for some.
The accommodation and food were plain but comfortable, with the staff showing good form to keep the atmosphere relaxed. For the price it’s difficult to fault, but temper your expectations based on that. Good luck Snowcoach.
For fun there was the small matter of the fire alarm the staff took 50 minutes to silence, though no one left the building to brave the minus 5 conditions. Even access to a retired fireman didn’t make life any easier. The wood burning open fire seemed great until you realised the smoke permeated all your clothes as well as the stair well above and below. Bleah! Still Ski Team Stewart won the quiz even though we got the tennis question wrong, and celebrated with ‘we are the champions’ in the Karaoke.
Friday Ski allowing for the usual watch off/on issues. Roughly 6 hours skiing, 6834m descent
