Bristol hippodrome. A lot of hype on this musical, but not sure it lived up to it. It wasn’t a spectacular production, and tbh expected something special. War Horse and Lion King were great for the way they used animals, The Book of Mormon was a colourful hoot, but this was singing and dance moves that are all the rage these days. Sung dialogue throughout at times difficult to follow in detail. No surtitles – we see these at Grand Opera, which would have helped those hard of hearing so I guess having the wiki synopsis is essential to tell the story.

King George’s diction (Daniel Boys) was a delight and well played for comic interest.
Park and ride, in this case from Brislington, is the way forward. Very efficient.
