Not bad eh?

The Taj was etched on to tetrapak, with the addition of a few textures, but of course it should have been a mirror print. We got that right for the Gorale who were had textures including heads and hands of sandpaper, anaglypta wallpaper backgrounds and a card double bass all on 3mm card. They were stuck down with PVA adhesive and once dry, coated with shellac/Liberon french polish. When the polish dried they were inked with ‘safe wash etching ink‘, sparingly mind you, and printed on Hannah’s industrial press. A second pressing worked as there was enough ink still on the plates to do that.

Printing plates before they were inked

“Explosion” was literally all the scraps from Nicola’s print that was left lying on the bench.
So we get an A3 press, ink, paper, shellac and we’re set for under £300, but as we want to try first it is possible to print tetrapak with a pasta machine 🙂
